Joseph R. Pye Elementary School

103,000 SF, single-story school with steel frame, grade beam foundation footing, masonry, metal roof. Built on a 23-acre site, with wetlands. The site has an underground storm drainage system with a retention pond. Care was exercised during site clearing to protect trees and buffer areas. The building is equipped with a chilled water system, a large kitchen with related facilities, computer labs, a special education room, and standard classrooms for grades K-5. Interior finishes include painted CMU and gypsum board, VCT floor covering, painted steel doors, windows and frames and seismic resistant suspended ceilings. The project also includes a media center.
